Connected to the library is an extensive collection of scores of the works of Goethe and his contemporaries that were set to music, and of text and songbooks, theatre, concert and event programmes of the Age of Goethe.

The holdings acquired before 1988 are catalogued in the publication "Katalog der Musikalien". Goethe-Museum Düsseldorf Anton-und-Katharina-Kippenberg-Stiftung. Prepared by Inge Kähmer, edited by Jörn Göres. Bonn 1987 (Schriften des Arbeitskreises selbständiger Kultur-Institute, Bd. 6).
